  • The LED display cabinet is the core load-bearing structure of the display screen. Its material directly determines the screen's weight, heat dissipation performance, durability, and applicable scenarios. Currently, mainstream LED display cabinets in the industry can be classified into four major categories by material, each with distinct performance characteristics and application scenarios.
  • 1. Steel Cabinets
 
  • Steel cabinets are the most traditional and universally applicable type, with cold-rolled steel as the core material. They offer high structural strength, excellent stability, low manufacturing cost, and significant cost-effectiveness.
 
  • The drawbacks are their relatively heavy self-weight and complete reliance on surface coating for rust prevention. With strong adaptability, they are mainly used for conventional indoor and outdoor fixed-installation LED displays, making them the mainstream choice for small-to-medium-sized static screen projects.
 
  • 2. Aluminum Alloy Cabinets (mainly die-cast aluminum)
 
  • Aluminum alloy cabinets are currently the mainstream choice in the industry, with die-cast aluminum being the most widely used material. Compared to steel cabinets, they are lighter, offer superior heat dissipation, achieve higher splicing precision, and are corrosion-resistant. The overall practicality and quality are significantly upgraded, with the only drawback being a relatively higher mold manufacturing cost.
 
  • 3. Magnesium Alloy Cabinets
 
  • Magnesium alloy cabinets represent a high-end lightweight solution. Their overall performance surpasses that of standard aluminum alloy cabinets. While maintaining high strength and rigidity, they further reduce cabinet weight, offering excellent portability.
 
  • The only shortcoming is the high production cost and relatively lower cost-effectiveness. Therefore, they are primarily used in applications with strict requirements for weight, appearance, and performance, such as high-end stage rental screens and ultra-thin high-definition displays.
 
  • 4. Plastic and Composite Material Cabinets
 
  • Plastic and composite material cabinets are a simplified lightweight option, featuring extremely low self-weight, good insulation, and low cost.
 
  • However, their structural strength and stability are relatively weak, making them unsuitable for large-scale, high-definition, or high-intensity applications. Their use is limited to basic display equipment such as small simple LED screens and indoor lightweight module kits.
